This is the redesign of some 20 year old logo the Police dept. in my state was using. When tasked with such endeavour, I wanted to create something that was familiar, but modern. My major source of inspiration was, besides the old logo, the badge they all wear, that is burgundy with a golden insignia.
The portrait business card was created to evoke that exact feeling. The act of giving it would parallel the act of showing people the delegate's badge.
The triangle represents our state, and it's divisions are cut in order to make it feel that it's in motion. It's also "the sum of its parts". I was not creating a logo for the Police, but rather for the Association of Police Delegates. Thus, I needed to make something that would represent unity and cooperation.
