Dynamite Dingane - Straight 8 Film Festival
Straight 8 set out a challenge to shoot a film using a Super 8mm camera, with only one film cartridge, no editing, and sound recorded separately to the film. It was easily one of the most difficult challenges we've completed.
With this medium in mind, our team decided to embrace the gritty and unrefined aesthetic of Super 8 film, and dove into the exploitation film genre.
We figured that with the time constraints, our best bet at telling a story would be through a fake trailer.

We wanted to play into the exploitation film genre's classic tropes of cheesy action, overacted violence, ridiculous music and of course actors styled in 70's garb.
