During my final year of Fashion Design at Nottingham Trent University I chose to take the Product Route rather than the six piece collection so that I could pursue fashion illustration and fashion writing in more depth. Choosing to make three creatively cut evening dresses, incorporating conceptual fabrics allowed me to undertake a second dissertation on my chosen topic of Reality TV, and focused on varying my journalistic style to suit different editorials. I was then also able to use Translucent B's concept to create a story of metamorphosis and this as a metaphor for a shy girl growing to be a beautifully confident woman. As follows is the photoshoot displaying the three dresses I designed and made combined with my own words and illustrations to make the illustrated novel.
