Dine A Navajo Culture

Overview: This is my project for Interactive Design
Purpose: I wanted to make an app that tells about the uniqueness of the Navajo culture and learning about the language.
Styles: I wanted to make the colors that represents the southwestern vibe of both Arizona and New Mexico where the reservation is on. I used the blue to represents the father sky and the tan brown to symbolized mother earth.
Process: From the many of user testing, I have made a ton of edits and changes. I reduced the value so the color would not compete with each other. I looked at other language app like google translate for inspiration.
What I've Learned: As a UX Designer, I have learn how important it is to have user testing. Because I can observe how the individual reacts to my app and how I can fix any issues that were not clear.

Here are the scenarios

Scenerio #1 You download the app and you want to use it to speak with your grandfather who only understands Navajo. You want to say the phrase “Good Morning, Grandfather.“ Another thing to know, there are children running around so it is difficult to hear audio.
Scenerio #2 You are with your little brother at the movie theater and he wants to know how the poster “Finding Nemo“ would look in Navajo. Find a way to translate the Movie poster on your phone.
Scenerio #3 Your mother told you the importance of the clan in the Navajo culture. Find out they are important to the Navajo people and what are they?

Here is the link to test out the app
