Lady Gaga x Adobe: Create Your Chromatica

The Provided Assets
My first task involved examining the assets Adobe provided for the competition. The assets contain photos of miss Gaga, and several graphic design typography elements.
Virtual Photography in UE4
I knew I wanted to do more than just adding the provided graphic elements to the provided photography. I settled on setting up a scene in Unreal Engine and placing a cutout image of miss Gaga into the scene to capture the depth, lighting, and effects of the scene. This would be a perfect base for my final composite image. This made it easy to play around with different lighting, post processes and effects to create the effects I wanted. Each time I found something that looked interesting I captured a high resolution image at 2x. I showcase a few of these images below, but I actually took several hundred.
The Final Photoshop Composite
I began by reviewing the taken photos and when I felt inspiration with a particular image I would leave it open for further exploration and editing. It was around this time I began hitting a creative road block. So to push me over the edge and get things back on track I fired up the Chromatica album and began taking notes. I listened for interesting things and meaning in the lyrics and came away with a list of key words, themes etc... They included alice in wonderland, queen of hearts, love, rain, & plastic doll. With this list I went looking for additional images to add to the mix. and using alpha masks and layer blends put together the final composite.
This is my final composite for entry into the Lady Gaga x Adobe Competition.
